When avid Spurs fan Dan The Drum approached lifelong Gooner Stu Patterson about an idea for a track, it was given some thought and some time was taken until they discussed the idea further. London producer Dan’s idea of Stu telling his history in the UK house scene resonated as Patterson had been thinking on a similar idea for a long time. There was a need for a roll call of some of the most important names in the early days of UK house. The last thing London house promoter and respected DJ Stuart Patterson imagined, was that he himself would be telling the story alongside some of his own early house memories.
With some cajoling and 3 pints of Red Stripe in a North London boozer, Dan got Stu talking into his recorder over the track. They both felt there was need for a hook that recreated a classic house line or two so up stepped vocalist Carmy Love from the London House Choir and the song really started to take shape. With Dan adding further production plus exemplary keys from Darren Morris, the UK finally has its own sermon to stand proud alongside many US fables. With remixes from the mighty XPress 2 and Ashley Beedle, Jo Wallace and Darren Morris in their North Street West guise, this is a must have package for discerning DJ’s far and wide.
