This year is flying by and with our start to the year in Goa, Faith 25th birthday party and now preparation for Amor Andalucia, it has most certainly been a fun one! The music keeps on coming though and we have picked a few release from around March for your listening pleasure. Get involved.
FRANCK ROGER / ENCHANTED REMIXES (VIBE ME TO THE MOON)
Franck Roger’s soul-drenched ‘Enchanted’ gets licensed by NYC label Vibe Me To the Moon, with DJ Spinna, Fred Everything and Demarkus Lewis serving up their own signature flavours to the cut. The deep and soulful house beauty, ‘Enchanted’, has a spiritually mesmerising groove that is tied together with the vocals of Shawn Chappelle. Spinna adds strings that massage your mind on his ‘Galactic Soul Mix’. Lazy Days Fred Everything lays down a dancefloor heater, while Dallas stalwart Demarkus Lewis showcases his trademark heavy bass and percussive signature sound for a slice of killer deep house.
JIMPSTER / THE PASSION (FREERANGE RECORDS)
London House Music fave Jimpster delivers more quality on his current deep house opus ‘The Passion’. On this release Jimpster continues to evolve even further showing us just how good a producer he is. The title cut gets a remix by another name in the upper echelons of the industry, Atjazz, and new star King Crowney, provides the stirring horn parts. ‘You’re My Ecstacy’ is just so good, so deep and so soulful. What an EP this is! But we wouldn’t expect anything less from one of the best deep house producers on the planet, would we.
LEA LISA / MANY SHADES OF HOUSE (FAVORITE RECORDINGS)
Lea Lisa has grabbed our attention with this double vinyl gatefold compilation on French label, Favorite Recordings. Showing off her immaculate taste, she has carefully curated tracks by Kerri Chandler, Ron Trent, Abacus, Lars Bartkuhn, and Mark Goddard. A deep house DJ playing on the French underground scene for over twenty years, this chunky compilation brings Lea Lisa to the fore with a sure-fire selection of four to the floor classic house gems. Not normally our thing to feature comps, but this is call and this lady is one fire!
DAMIAN RAUSCH / GROUND (FEEDASOUL RECORDS)
Feedasoul drop their first release of the year with a two track EP. The Lebanese label continue to deliver killer house and this release is no different with the distinctive sounds of Damian Rausch. While we are partial to both of the tracks on the release, it is the energetic percussive soulful deep vocal sample goodness of We Got 2 Know that really takes us back but still while still looking forward. A proper dancefloor twister.
MAKÈZ – MIDNIGHT TIME EP (HEIST RECORDINGS)
Releasing their first record on Heist, Dutch duo Makèz have a new EP with five original tracks with three collaborative affairs with AVA LAVÁ, Life On Planets and Joey Hotwax bringing their vibes. With side A offering all the collaborations with jazzy, deep, soulful flavours, classy vocals and live instruments, side B really takes things to the club with the duo bringing the sounds of chicago with an acid edge alongside darker hooks, synths and clever sample cuts.
