Out today (10 June) on their own Heist Recordings, Dam Swindle drop the first of three EPs that will celebrate 10 years of the duo. It is testament to them that it feels like they have been around for so much longer considering the impact they have had since that Dirt Crew release a decade ago.
Keep On Swindling EP consists of two new original tracks and two stunning remixes. The bouncing sampled groove of opener ‘Body Control’ and closing deeper groove of ‘All I Want’ are brand new and very much highlight why we love the duo so much. Super tight production and composition, layered to the max but never over done, the synth elements just taking the tracks up a notch and pure dance floor loveliness!
Emma-Jean Thackray offers a jazzed up remix of ‘The Break Up’, the first release from Dam Swindle on their fresh new Heist label back in 2013. Beautifully pieced together, building from the outset, offering so much soul from the vocal and Rhodes keys, this is such a classy version that really brings this to life for 2022.
The second remix is from the guys themselves as they take on their 2014 track ’64 Ways’. A killer original with vocalist Mayer Hawthorne, the 2022 version is simply revisited with 2022 equipment and another 8 years experience, but gladly leaving the general track construction and parts in tact.
A massive congratulations to Lars and Maartin for continuing to deliver their sound to the house music world and long may it last. Check out the tracks below and make sure you get your copy here.
