This was hard to ignore. The simply stunning vocals of Jazz singer Lady Blackbird has her reimagining of 70s dance floor favourite “Wanted Dead or Alive” remixed by Ashley Beedle, Chris Seefried and Matthew Herbert.
All three producers do something very special and very different, but as a house and disco site, our focus is on the Ashley Beedle offerings in this instance. Ashley Beedle takes the incredible vocal performance and builds a soulful house masterpiece around this focal point. Groove heavy bass-line, solid house beats, improvised piano hooks, horns and a multitude of layers including backing vocals which transform the feeling of Lady Blackbirds original to a belting dance floor gem.
The package contains five versions from Ashley Beedle, an atmospheric take retaining the intensity of the original from Chris Seefried and a more intense and driven version from the ever-excellent Matthew Herbet.
