A quality two track offering from Darius Syrossian as he returns to Hot Creations, to be released on 24 July.
Darius Syrossian delivers two heavy hitting full on club belters and continues with the current trend of producers re-imagining and paying homage to the 90s House sound. This trend highlights the fact that we are in 2020 discussing tracks that are inspired by another generation of artist and producer, to a sound around 25 -30 years ago. That for me is something to be celebrated.
First of the two originals “Flashlight” is a tough as boots house track that is driven by the heavy beats and simple analogue and industrial sounds. In the words accompanying the release, Syrossian informs that this track is inspired by Junior Vasquez who was a massive influence for him. So much so that this track features two great vocal samples that really take the track to the next level, one of which is Junior Vasquez himself. It rolls along with gusto, with the odd respite allowing you to take a breath while the focus shifts to the Vasquez vocal. Simple but effective is the correct if what understated term for this track.
The belting Boujee B gives us reason to be thankful we have a scene which has produced a longevity that allows the likes of DS to refer back to a time which offered H.O.U.S.E as an ethos as well as a sound. This really does take that jackin’ US house vibe head on with a bouncing bass line, plenty of layers across the beats and percussion. This for me is the pick of the two tracks on the release. Constructed with class and packed with energy, the way it should be. This is a track to terrorise any dance floor.
