This is the first release on a brand new label Recut Music, focussing on house and disco. Artist Recut sets the tone with his Reload Disco EP.
This new release is from an artist who has been knocking out quality Italo Disco since the 90s. For this new project he is working under a new moniker and we don’t have any info on who he is or where he’s from, although we have our ear to the ground! This four tracker delivers all original tracks, the way I like it, and offer a real mix of dance floor vibes.
First up is “Portorico”. Full on latin laced disco for your dancing feet. Loads of percussion, vocal samples and loops flavour this with plenty of spice. Created with a craft that keeps the track just this side of caricature. It’s class and only just pipped to track of the EP by……..
……”Mondo Grosso”. A big slice of deeper dance floor house business that rolls with a tough as boots groove heavy bass line. Layered around the bass and stomping beat is echoing sounds of percussion, melodic bells and samples which offer a hypnotic edge to the track. This is definitely a late night track that will twist up plenty of folk along the way.
“Reload Disco” is a bag of dirty filth! Starting with a famous sci-fi loop, the slapping beats take over before the dark bass line kicks in, all in preparation for a host of sounds, elements and even a vocal sample that build throughout the five plus minutes. Rotten! You’ll understand when you hear it.
The closer for this release, dropping the tempo a touch, is “Defending’. Heavy dubby beats and bass, warped sounds and disco loops make this a face creasing, head bobbing, body rocking finish to what is a top dog of a first release for Recut Music.
