We continue with a artist profiles of those who will be taking to the stage for our forthcoming North Fest 10 mini festival this August. Next up is Medlar, part of the Wolf Music family, he will be performing LIVE with Dele Sosimi, something we are extremely excited about.
Playing in the main indoor space alongside the mighty Norman Jay amongst others, we had the chance to speak to Medlar with a few short questions to find out a little bit more about the past year and what to look forward to in 2021 and of course at North Fest 10 from him and Dele.
LondonHouseMusic: How did you spend your time during lock down?
Medlar: I found some part time work to keep busy and help out with rent etc. Once we felt safe enough Dele and I met and did some recording sessions, mainly recording lots of MIDI information of Dele playing keys that we’ve been working with since, drafting in some help from some other instrumentalists around the world which we then stitch together.
LHM: Tell us about one of your favourite productions of 2020 you have yet been able to play to a dancefloor but we will hear at North Fest 10?
Medlar: We’d like to do a house version of Full Moon and we will be generally tweaking and updating the live show from before stuff shut down. We have a fair few new tracks that are yet to be performed!
LHM: We have four stages at North Fest 10, what other artists are you looking forward to catching if possible?
Medlar: Most of the lineup is up our street I think, it’ll be absolutely amazing to hear some top DJs on a sound system after so long..! Crazy P are always favourites to catch whether live or DJing (we have a collaborative remix of one of their album tracks dropping soon) and of course Norman Jay is a legend. I’ve never seen Smokin Jo or Farley & Heller so I’m personally hoping to catch them too. Looking forward to it all to be honest!
LHM: What’s your plans for the year ahead?
Medlar: Release more music, play some shows, I know Dele has a jam packed touring schedule. I’m hoping to work on some more solo and collaborative projects in the studio, I’ve never felt as excited about releasing new music as right now!
