DUBL DRAT: JUMP ROPE EP (Friends and Relations)
London’s deep house mainstay Nebraska with a fresh EP and a fresh alias – Dubl Drat. A heavily-funked 116bpm strut with hooky riffs aplenty, “Jump Rope” comes in two weights – the full length and a punchy edit. Bass guitar is played by Dan Hawkins, and these killer riffs lurk amidst hazy, glossy Rhodes chords and a primal flute line. “What You Did” slows down to a more heavy, hypnotic p-funk groove. New name, same uncut high-quality funk.

JIMPSTER, ASH LAURYN, OVEOUS: NORTH ATLANTIC EP (Freerange)
LHM friend and favourite Jimpster jumps back to the forefront with this belter of an EP. With spoken word from NYCs Oveous on “Flo” and Detroits Ash Lauryn working the vocals on “Feel Me”, this is a late night, underground, raw, analogue five tracker that is an absolute must to have in the bag. With these three together on a release, it’s never going to be average is it.

J PEACOCK: I’M DOING JUST FINE (Dirt Crew Recordings)
It’s always a nice feeling to get a notification Dirt Crew have a release on the way. Four original tracks from J Peacock, all offering a real taste of his influences into four varied and creative offerings. While or four tracks are going to find a place in the bag, it is the chugging warm up beaut that is “Can’t Go Nowhere” and late night destroyer “Hometime” which really caught our ears.

JKRIV & MEGATRONIC: OUT OF TIME (Razor-N-Tape)
Part of the Razor-N-Tape 7″ series, JKriv and Megatronic come back together for another prime club release. Megatronics spoken vocal dances poetically around themes of disillusionment and alienation with our modern digital age, all placed perfectly over killer beats, synth stabs and growling bass. Lovely stuff!

Intr0Beatz is sure making up for lost time as he continues to empty the storage units of his studio. The beauty of it is, every time he delivers and teaming up with a label that often finds a place on this site and in our record bags, Cosmic Angles, this is classy driving deep house workout, with another four ace original tracks to boot!

RALPH SESSION FT JULIET MEDOZA: MAD DEEP (Quintessentials)
LHM favourite Ralph Session reignites the collaboration with Juliet Mendoza following their Freerange release not so long ago. Title track is exactly what it says on the tin, deep, driving, soulful and a track that will pick the dancers right back up deep into the night. None other than Jerome Sydenham has taken the original and worked his magic and with an instrumental and the brilliant deep as hell Sway on the release too, this is must for the bag.

ERIK RICO: THE RARE GROOVE PROJECT EP (Cosmocities)
Erik Rico covers three grooves with his unique funk drippin’ sounds and vocals. As much as we love the originals, it is the remixes we are all about on this release with Gerd and DJ Nature doing fine work across the release. But it is Aroop Roy’s jackin’ workout of Disco Funk that gets us going, as it will pretty much any dancefloor.
