Already in the running for release of the year this 4 track package doesn’t put a foot wrong with remixes from Joe Claussell, Manoo, Osunlade and Steve Bug & Lagenberg.
The track we can’t stop going back to is Joe Claussell’s epic 11 minute version of Progress (we’ve included the whole release below). Not so much a remix but a live musical rework that we might classify as ‘deep’ but just builds and builds with synths, strings , pianos, percussion and a haunting vocal chant. So damn heavy, as much for the dancers as the heads and it’s heartbreaking a record as good as this got ‘locked down’, it so deserves a heaving, appreciative dancefloor.
We would have been all over Manoo’s as deep but totally different version if JC’s wasn’t so hot. Repetive, hypnotic techy synths works so well alongside piano lines building into pure late night heads down bliss.
Osunlade’s mix sits somewhere betweens JC’s and Manoo’s, retaining the deepness of both, strings to the fore while sparsing out the rest of the track but still full enough to fill any discerning dacefloor.
Completing the line up are Steve Bug and Lagenberg with their remix of Via. Moving into more techno terrority it’s another deep late night builder and hopefully along with the rest of this unmissable release moves super talented Scottish prodcucer Vince Watson further into the spotlight.
