On 30 August, The Date provide London and the bank holiday weekend with an outdoor special on the Sunday of Notting Hill Carnival at a – to be announced – location just a stones throw from the carnival itself. Leading the line up with pure open air vibes will be the brilliant Crazy P Sound System plus, already confirmed but not announced until the day of the party is a secret special guest of some stature that will certainly not disappoint!
For this event, The Date have secured a stunning outdoor location situated 5 mins walk from both Ladbroke Grove and Kensal Green tubes. This they say “is the Date’s own private Carnival party with huge Funktion 1 sound to match any carnival sound outside in the sun”. Running from midday to 7pm with its own bars, toilets, plus a second room inside, when you see the line up, this party has all the vibes with none of the headache.
The Crazy P Sound System (Danielle Moore, Jim Baron and Hot Toddy) join Date resident Stuart Patterson and Phil Asher outside in the courtyard on the main (and huge) house sound system. Inside The Date salutes the origins of house with a disco room with some of London’s finest purveyors of the sound, Tim Keenoy, Dave Jarvis , Mr Shiver and Si Kurrage all confirmed.
Since leaving their home of Loft Studios earlier this year after several years, The Date is moving around the city, so far offering Brixton, Hackney and now Notting Hill the finest house and disco, and with this outdoor all day session, if you haven’t been to any of The Date events, this is a must for you this Bank Holiday Sunday.
PS: Keep your ear to the ground as they will also be taking the party into the night with an after party following the main event.
