Giant at The Bussey Building , Fri Nov 22nd with Atjazz, Rainer Truby, Lowlife.
Giant returns to Peckham’s Bussey Building on Friday Nov 22nd after a sold out opening party in October.
The quality line-up at one London’s finest venues proved irresistible with the event selling out days before the party with hundreds turned away on the night.
Music lovers won’t be disappointed by the second instalment of Giant with another heavyweight line-up.
We switch things around for part two moving the house to the middle floor to accommodate UK hero Atjazz and one of Germany’s finest Rainer Truby. Martin ‘Atjazz‘ Iveson’s career has rocketed over the last few years. He launched the highly regarded Mantis label from his Midland’s base in 1996 which was responsible for some of the UK’s finest deep house (and nu-jazz to hip-hop) for over 10 years.
Martin has also been a prolific remixer throughout his career reworking tracks for artists such as Nitin Sawhney, Bob Sinclar, Jazzanova, Zed Bias & Omar. His trademark sound has been requested on many occasions by top class vocalists including Clara Hill, Replife & Deborah Jordan for their own projects. Martin ‘Atjazz’ Iveson is in demand across the world, whether as a renowned producer, sought after remixer, or as the floor filling DJ we will see at Giant.
Joining Martin will be a true musical connoisseur in Germany’s Rainer Truby. Rainer’s monthly party Root Down in Freiburg is renowned throughout the world as is his Truby Trio production outfit (alongside Christian Prommer and Roland Appel). Rainer’s depth of knowledge has seen him invited to put together a wealth of quality compilations from the Talkin’ Jazz series to albums on Compost and Sonar Kollektiv. Like Atjazz you can hear Rainer’s love of soul, jazz, disco and latin seeping through in his immaculately crafted house sets.
Giant residents Stuart Patterson and Tim Keenoy open the proceedings on the middle floor while London party institution Lowlife take over the top floor. Lowlife have been holding some of London’s finest parties for many years now and their unquestionable musical knowledge and top party crowd will make a fine addition to Giant. Lowlife regulars Bill Brewster and Michael Cook are joined by guest Ray Mang as they deliver their own unique take on disco old and new.
Advance tickets are reasonably priced at under a tenner and sold out totally in advance last time so are highly recommended. http://www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?523871
